FAQ
Inclement Weather
What do we do if it’s raining?
Please check our Weather Alerts Page prior to class. Our goal is to proactively communicate any weather issues or class changes with you.
Tennis
What should my child wear to tennis class/camp?
Tennis specific clothing is not required, but he/she should be comfortable as possible! T-shirt/shorts/sweats/socks are recommended.
Comfortable sneakers: PowerSprouts players (our program for 3-5 year-olds) can wear any type of sneaker. Ages 6 and up should try and wear cross-trainers or tennis sneakers. In the Spring and Fall, it may be a bit chilly, so please make sure to wear layers!
What should my child bring to class/camp?
Depending on the sport activity you and your child choose, and the way your municipality’s program is set up, FirstPlay Sports may provide some or all of the equipment. Therefore, please consult your municipality’s program flyer for details.
Also, bring plenty of water to drink, and sunscreen to protect your child’s skin! For classes/camps that are 3 hours or longer, please bring a light snack.
Other Sports
What should my child bring to class/camp?
FirstPlay Sports provides all equipment, but if your child has a favorite piece of equipment that he/she would like to use (i.e., baseball glove, soccer ball, tennis racket, etc.) then feel free to bring it along! Don’t forget to bring plenty of water for your child, and sunscreen to protect his or her skin! For classes/camps that are 3 hours or longer, please bring a light snack.
Summer Camps
Do I need to bring any equipment?
It depends on how your particular program is set up. Please check with your recreation department or consult the program flyer.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. Bring a hat for the sun!
Should I bring food and water?
Yes – please make sure to bring plenty of water each day and a light snack for break time.
Can we sign up for more than 1 week of summer camp?
ABSOLUTELY! Generally, our campers attend several weeks of camp each summer.
Participation & Refunds
What if my child misses a day?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide make-up days without prior approval before the day is missed. We do not want to compromise class size.
Can I receive a refund?
Refunds will only be issued in the case of a medical situation. Documentation from a doctor is required.
If a child is not willing to participate in the classes, a credit voucher will be issued. The voucher is non-transferable. Credit vouchers must be requested no later than 48 hours after the second class. A class will count if at least 30 minutes of the class is completed.
What if it’s raining or there’s bad weather?
All outdoor sessions have an additional rain make-up date pre-scheduled. This session will be used in the case of a cancellation.
Our staff is more than happy to answer any and all questions, please contact us anytime. If your child has any allergies, please note that on your sign-up form.
