Learn How to Play, and Have Fun While You’re at It!
FirstPlay Sports’ Instructional Classes (or clinics) are for children who are beginner or intermediate athletes. Our programs allow the student to learn the basic skills of a sport, and then compete in a fun, non-competitive environment. These hour-long classes are held one day a week over the course of five to eight weeks. We offer classes in such sports as:
Tennis – Practice the basics: forehand, backhand, volley, serve and strategy from the region’s leader in tennis instruction.
T-Ball, Baseball and Softball - Learning the basics greatly adds to the child’s enjoyment of the sport, and in organized ball later. Safety bats and equipment are used for younger players.
Basketball – Pick up the fundamentals of shooting, passing, dribbling and footwork. Emphasizing both fun and safety, it’s great preparation for team play in the future.
Soccer – Get acquainted with one of the world’s most popular sports, focusing on dribbling, shooting and passing. Includes organized scrimmages and games.
Lacrosse – Learn the techniques of stick handling, passing, shooting, cradling and strategy. In a fast-moving sport, our focus on safety is always in play.
Flag Football - We teach kids the techniques of catching, passing and de-flagging, as well as all aspects of playing offense and defense.
Golf – Learn the basic golf swing, and how to pitch and chip using SNAG golf equipment. All equipment is kid-friendly and perfect for the entry-level player.
Ultimate Frisbee – Learn how to pass, intercept and score in this fun sport that combines the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football!
